Life Cycle Analysis to Determine Net Carbon Sequestration in Commercial Christmas Tree Production
A Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) calculator for estimation of on-farm carbon sequestration was written specifically for the use of individual Christmas tree growers. The intent was to write a user-friendly program constructed to appear as a single page form which displays all inputs, options, and outputs with the choices presented in a drop-down list. The form is an overlay of multiple Excel tables where calculations are done in the background. From the grower inputs based on their range of practices the output is a simple net kg of carbon sequestered.
